I teach two translation courses on Thursday. There is always an emphasis on
cross-linguistic and cross-cultural learning in my classes, since translation involves the interaction and comparison of two languages. We try to make good use of our knowledge in Japanese as a valuable resource for developing our English skills. I strongly encourage cooperative learning in all the class activities, as well; I find it most exciting to work together and gain various perspectives from each other. It’s been over 15 years since I started teaching at SFC, and I’ve enjoyed every single semester working here. I’m looking forward to meeting many of you! |
