English Listening with Podcasts (Beginner)
Wed. 2nd. Period Walt Wyman
Keywords:
Culture, Discussion, Listening, Presentation, Vocabulary

Warning: This is an “A-level” class but we will use “C-level” content!

What are podcasts? They are free digital audio programs that you can download from the Internet. We will use them to practice listening in this class. Most podcasts are made by native speakers. They talk fast sometimes, so it may be difficult at first. But the more you listen, the more you will get used to it. Besides listening, we will learn vocabulary, discuss the podcasts’ content, and give several presentations throughout the semester, so you will do a lot of speaking in this class too.

  • Develop confidence in abilitiy to listen to/understand native speakers
  • Learn to catch key information being spoken at natural speed
  • Expand vocabulary
