Real World Listening with Podcasts

In this class students will listen to freely available podcasts on a number of topics. They will practice listening to native speakers talk at natural speed, learn new vocabulary, perform listening comprehension activities, and discuss the content of the podcasts. Students will give several short (2-3 min.) group presentations, and one long final presentation (required for credit).


  • Develop confidence in abilitiy to listen to/understand native speakers
  • Learn to catch key information being spoken at natural speed
  • Expand vocabulary


Participation: 30%
