In this class students will learn to give speeches in English for various social occasions. Each student will give several short speeches throughout the semester. These speeches will allow the student to practice different types of social public speaking, such as performing toasts, giving self-introductions, and speeches for formal or semi-formal occasions.


  • Become comfortable speaking in front of an audience
  • Learn manners and etiquette for speaking at various social occasions
  • Improve ad-libbing abilities in English
