This class is an active class. You will learn how to analyze source material related to current Japanese social issues. You will also learn how to present your opinion in front of your classmates. The focus of the class will be on issues that are of interest to young people. We will explore the topics using a variety of online media. Your writing and presentation skills will improve.

You will share ideas and experiences with your classmates. 

***We will decide what topics to discuss during our second class. The topics listed below on this syllabus may change depending on the what the class is interested in.***

***Please understand this class has a large amount of groupwork and you must come to class prepared. If you do not like groupwork and you do not have the time to prepare before class, this class is NOT a good match for you***


After completing this course, you will know the basics of analyzing source material and expressing your opinion. You will have improved your writing and presentation skills. You will also have shared ideas with your classmates using a variety of digital tools including video and social networks.
