Oral Listening
Gaining Sharper English Communication
Thu. 2nd. Period Keith Olfers
Keywords:
Listening, Speaking

Delivery: On Campus

The First part of the class is for introduction and preparation. Each student will get an opportunity to make a small presentation in order to demonstrate the
skill learned, both to the instructor and to the students themselves.
These will be delivered solo, on assigned topics with some small time allowed for preparation. Following the initial presentation, there will
be a brief intro followed by exercises and role plays. The role plays will be
geared to provide the student with the opportunity of using some part of
the skill set in a focused way. Each unit will be organized to gradually
expand on the skills involved, in preparation for the exams.
Prior to the Midterm and the Final, there will be a consolidation
practice day to give the students another opportunity to apply the skills in
an integrated way. Any remaining time may be used to begin preparation
for the exam.

Students will be evaluated on their attendance, participation, and their presentations. Also, students will have some choice in the topics that are discussed

There will be one makeup class and two makeup assignments.

This class is a fun way to learn basic survial English.  You will be able to communicate in English more comfortably after this class.  We will go over many different topics including asking and giving directions, making small talk, and asking questions when you don't understand.  Come and have fun learning English!
